Part 2

For some reason it cut me off on the last post... I guess I am too long winded. Anyway we should have court by the end of this week so we should know more by then when we are coming home.

For those who were asking we are in Donetsk which is a city of about 1,000,000 people. There are quite a few markets etc close by so it is a good area. Tara, sorry I didn't get your email sooner. Now that we know where to go to the internet we can keep in touch and hopefully meet up somewhere.

I just have one quick story to tell before it cuts me off again. We were visiting "R" and whenever we visit and he runs away, we call to him to come back and stay with us. The other day, Sydney went to see if our taxi had arrived at the orhpanage yet and when he noticed her walking away, he started yelling to her in Russian and shaking his fist/finger at her and waving for her to come back. It was really funny. We aren't exactly sure what he was saying but we know he was putting her in her place. Syd has been great about everything on this trip. She never complains and takes everything in stride, sometimes better than Dan and I. We all can't wait to bring him home and get into a rountine.

Anyway, I better sign off before I get cut off. I should be able to post daily now so more news tomorrow. Thanks again for the comments and for those of you who are here or coming here soon for your journeys, good luck and God Bless!

Thanks for sharing your stories. It's good to hear things are working out process wise, and hopefully you'll be heading home sooner than you think. Indeed everyone should have a chance to experience cross cultural experiences---both positive, and less than positive---and then to have a good laugh about them later. We are finishing up on packing and the garden today; it has been very busy these last few days getting things ready plus lots of people wanting to see us. We are looking forward to getting on the plane tomorrow. All the best to you! PS Elton John Tickets sold out in minutes---He's coming here in SEpt!

Glad all is going well! You guys are just a bit north of where we were (same region, but we were in Mariupol, by the Azov Sea). Hope you get your court date soon!

I'm sure you can't wait to get home and get into a new family routine with BOTH your kids!!! Everything will be a lot simpler once you're here and the only roadblock will be the language barrier between you and him ... not the rest of the world!!! And he'll pick up English really quick once you're here!!

Tomorrow is the last day of school so the kids are excited. Of course, they love going to school at this time of year because they don't do any work ... just fun stuff. Billie's going swimming today and Jamie's going golfing. We'll be heading out to the lake Friday for most of July but I'll be checking your blog as often as I can to find out when you will be getting home!!!

Can't wait to see you all!!!

Hey Lorrie, better keep using the stairs - sounds like this little guy is going to keep you running! Glad to hear all is going well. Keep up with the postings. I hope you're taking lots of pictures!

So Lorrie, I'm thinking of signing up for a learn to run class... are you in? Sounds like you might need it. The last day of school is fast approaching (1 more sleep) and summer vacation will be here. Danna is excited as they have done "absolutely nothing" in the last two days. (a walk around the park, and then board games.) Tomorrow is a pool day. Tuff life!

We are going camping from Saturday the 28th until the 6th of July - So Syd don't worry Danna will check in as often as possible - she's missing you but loving being able to read about your adventures. :)

Take care, enjoy the rest of the journey and see you all when you get home.

p.s. Dan if you want to join the running group you are more than welcome too :P
